In 2003, a historic downtown building was transformed into a community arts center—where anyone could explore different art forms or discover new interests and artists. Chestnut Center for the Arts offers year-round workshops and skill classes to encourage individuals to learn a new skill or refine an old one. Local artists' passions are highlighted through open art galleries that promote and nurture visual artists and expose them to art enthusiasts and collectors alike. In addition to having rental spaces available for teaching, rehearsing, or meeting, the Chestnut Center features "The Chapel of Chestnut" for weddings and receptions.
